Soffit, Fascia & Gutter Services
Soffit, Fascia & Gutter Installation in Toronto & the GTA
Give your roofline a clean, coordinated finish with soffit, fascia and gutter installation or replacement. HomeTouch helps homeowners update worn exterior components and plan a gutter system that collects roof runoff and directs it toward the appropriate drainage points.
The roofline, working together
A Clean Finish From Roof Edge to Drainage
The details along your roofline serve different purposes, but they need to work together. Soffit finishes the underside of the roof overhang, fascia defines the roof edge, and the gutter system collects rainwater and directs it through the downspouts.
When these components are worn, damaged, or no longer suit the property, replacing the relevant sections can improve the appearance of the roofline and help restore a more organized drainage path.
Every property has its own roof shape, access requirements, and existing exterior materials. We assess the project and confirm the appropriate scope before work begins.
Our services
Soffit, Fascia & Gutter Solutions
Whether you are updating tired roofline details or replacing an existing gutter system, we can help you plan the work around your home’s exterior and drainage needs.
Soffit Installation & Replacement
Update worn or damaged soffit panels and give the underside of your roof overhang a consistent finish. Where ventilated soffit is used, its ventilation openings help support airflow into the attic.

Refresh the visible trim along the roof edge. Properly fitted fascia creates a clean roofline finish and provides an attachment surface for the gutter system where the design requires it.

Replace worn eavestroughs or install a new gutter system planned around the roofline. Layout, slope, fastening, and downspout positioning all help determine how water moves away from the house.

A Finished Roof Overhang With Proper Ventilation in Mind
Soffit panels cover the underside of the roof overhang and create a finished transition between the roof edge and exterior walls. Depending on the roof design, vented soffit can also help maintain airflow into the attic.
Damaged, loose, or deteriorating panels can interrupt the appearance of the roofline and leave exposed areas that need attention. Replacing the affected soffit gives the overhang a cleaner, more consistent finish.
The appropriate material and panel style depend on the existing construction and the requirements of the property.
When to Consider Soffit Replacement
- Cracked, loose, or visibly damaged soffit panels
- Discolouration or deterioration along the roof overhang
- Open gaps or sections that no longer fit neatly
- An exterior renovation where the roofline needs a coordinated finish
Fascia installation
A Cleaner, More Consistent Roofline
Fascia runs along the edge of the roof and provides the visible finishing line beneath the roofing edge. It can also serve as the mounting surface for the gutter system.
When existing fascia becomes damaged, deteriorates, or looks inconsistent with the rest of the exterior, replacement can help restore a more finished appearance. The condition of the existing roof edge and its relationship to the gutter should be considered together before the work is planned.
HomeTouch can assess the affected sections and confirm whether fascia replacement should be completed alongside related roofline work.
Fascia Work Can Help Address
- Worn or damaged roof-edge trim
- Sections that no longer create a consistent finish
- Existing fascia that needs attention before gutter replacement
- Roofline details that look mismatched after previous repairs or renovations
Gutter installation
A Gutter System Planned Around Your Roofline
A gutter system needs to collect roof runoff and move it toward the downspouts without directing unnecessary water onto the exterior walls or areas beside the foundation.
A new installation or replacement project starts with the roofline itself: its dimensions, corners, connection points, and practical locations for downspouts. The gutter layout, slope, and fastening need to be considered together so the completed system follows a clear drainage path.
HomeTouch provides gutter installation and replacement as part of our soffit, fascia, and gutter services. The exact scope is confirmed according to your home’s condition and project requirements.
What Is Considered During Installation?
- Roofline dimensions and layout
- Gutter placement, slope, and secure fastening
- Corners, connections, and downspout locations
- Existing fascia condition and the finish along the roof edge
The details matter
One Roofline. Three Connected Functions.
Soffit
The Underside of the Overhang
Soffit panels finish the area beneath the roof overhang. When vented panels are specified, their openings form part of the attic ventilation arrangement.
Fascia
The Roof Edge
Fascia gives the roofline a defined, finished edge and can provide the surface used to secure the gutter system.
Gutters
The Drainage Path
Gutters collect runoff from the roof and guide it toward the downspouts, which direct the water toward the intended discharge area.
What to look for
When to Consider Replacing Exterior Roofline Components
Changes around the roof edge can indicate that one or more components need closer inspection. Look at the soffit, fascia, gutters, and downspouts together rather than assuming every issue requires a complete replacement.
- Soffit panels that appear loose, cracked, or deteriorated
- Fascia sections with visible damage or an uneven finish
- Gutters that sag, pull away, or no longer align consistently
- Water spilling over the gutter edge during rainfall
- Downspouts or connections that appear loose or poorly positioned
- Repeated patchwork that leaves the roofline looking inconsistent
The right scope depends on what is actually damaged and what remains serviceable. We assess the affected areas and explain the recommended work before quoting the project.
Finishing details
Choose a Finish That Fits Your Home
Soffit, fascia, and gutters are highly visible parts of a home’s exterior. Their colour, profile, and relationship to the siding, brickwork, roof, and trim can influence how complete the roofline looks.
The appropriate options depend on the construction and the products suitable for the project. During the estimate, the required work and available choices can be discussed before the final scope is confirmed.
- Coordinated Roofline
- Consider how soffit, fascia, and gutters look together.
- Appropriate Components
- Select products suited to the home’s existing construction.
- Consistent Finish
- Plan edges, corners, transitions, and connections carefully.

- The total length and number of roofline sections involved.
- Existing Condition
- Whether components can remain or damaged sections need to be removed.
- Roofline Complexity
- Corners, changes in direction, transitions, and connection details.
- Access Requirements
- Building height and the practical access needed to complete the work.
- Project Scope
- Whether the work covers soffit, fascia, gutters, downspouts, or several components together.

Common questions
Soffit, Fascia & Gutter FAQs
What is the difference between soffit and fascia?
They sit at the same roof edge but face different ways. Soffit is the panel on the underside of the roof overhang, the surface you see when you stand by the wall and look up. Fascia is the upright trim along the outer edge of the roof, facing outward, and it is usually what the gutters are fastened to. One finishes the underside and the other finishes the edge.
Does soffit help with attic ventilation?
Vented soffit can. It has openings that let outside air into the attic space, and it is commonly one part of how a roof is ventilated. Solid soffit panels do not do this. How much vented soffit suits a home depends on the roof design and the other ventilation products in place, so we look at that during the assessment.
When should soffit or fascia be replaced?
The usual prompts are visible damage, material that is deteriorating, panels that have come loose, or sections of the roofline that no longer give a sound, even finish. That does not always mean replacing everything. An assessment shows which sections are affected and which are still serviceable, and the scope is set from there.
Can soffit, fascia, and gutters be installed or replaced together?
Yes. Because they meet at the same roof edge, related work can be planned as one project, whether that is soffit and fascia replacement, a gutter replacement, or all three. It is not required, though: each can also be done on its own. The final scope depends on the condition of your property and what you would like quoted.
What affects the cost of gutter installation?
The main factors for eavestrough installation or replacement are the length of roofline involved, the layout and number of corners, the materials, how the roof edge is accessed, downspout placement, and whether any existing gutter has to come down first. Pricing depends on the size, condition, access, materials and scope of work. Request a free quote for an accurate price.

Minor soffit and fascia repairs are handled through our Exterior Maintenance service, and leaking or sagging gutters through Gutter Repair. Not sure which you need?
